Step 0, Welcome!

As you may have noticed Skyrat is a whitelisted 18+ community. So you may ask yourself; how do I get in?

To join and get whitelisted all you have to do is follow the simple steps shown below here and you'll be in, in no time!

Step 1, Your application

The very first thing you should do to begin your journey of getting whitelisted is joining the discord.
The discord has all the essentials, rules and necessary information you will need to submit your application for getting whitelisted. At first you will only have access to a few channels, these channels are the following:

• #server-info: Has a collection of links and other resources with details about the server, github and Wiki among other things.
• #community-rules: Has all the rules that apply to the discord and OOC behavior on the server.
• #server-rules: Has all the rules and guidelines that govern IC behavior on the server, be sure to give some of these a good read since they will be important to your application!
• #access-requests: Is the channel where you will first be greeted by the bot and then told where you can go to fill out your application. (Staff will not reply to this channel unless the bot gets full)
• #application-instruction: Has all the information and instructions you will need to fill out a nice and proper application. Give this one a good read and follow the presented instructions!

Skyrat is an 18+ community and we have this application process in place to first and foremost, filter out underage players for obvious reasons and secondly to filter out trouble makers that could ruin the role-play environment of the server. Its a relatively short but needed process and will only take up to twenty minutes if done and filled out properly (Your application will be denied if its low effort or quality. Though staff is happy to assist by answering any questions you may have). It is highly recommended that you are not too brief with your answers to the questions you will be posed, write a bit and balance the amount of words you have per question nicely.

A document you Must read before joining is the New player introduction packet. This google doc covers all the basics of our rules and has a small list of additional reading material listed at the top to help you understand the rules.

The channels you can see on the discord will be heavily restricted and limited until your application has been accepted.

1.1 Tips

• Be serious with the answers you give on your application.
• Format your application properly as shown in the ready made questions list.
• Dont be shy about giving longer, more elaborate awnsers.
• .txt, .pdf, .docx, or any other document files containing your application will not be reviewed or accepted nor will links to websites containing your application.
• Use multiple discord posts for your application if you feel the need to do so.
• Q1 to Q4 give some general info about who you are and why you want to join so answer to the best of your abilities.
• Q5 and Q6 are to get some insight into how you role-play and if you understand the rules, 100 to 150 words are recommended to be balanced between both questions.

Step 2, Submitting your application

After you have read all the documents you should have and after you have found your answers to the questions asked you are ready to submit your application.

To do so simply scroll to the bottom of #application-instruction and click the blue button that says: Apply!
A ticket will be opened for you to paste your application into and when you are done you can ping an Access Request Manager who will take a look at your ticket to review it.
It occasionally happens that you will be asked a few more follow up questions, please be so kind to comply with staff and answer the questions you are given, additional clarification may also be asked on some questions if your answers or responses are deemed too brief/short.

Do not expect your ticket to be instantly handled and have some patience for staff to properly look at, and discuss your application. The process is not at all lengthy and should not take any longer than a few days. But once your application has been accepted you will gain access to both the server and the complete discord!

Step 3, Welcome to Skyrat!

Congratulations on getting your application accepted and being whitelisted on the server! You now have full access to all of the discord channels (Excluding staff and other hidden channels) along with most roles on the server!
Key word is most of the roles/jobs on the server since some are restricted to veteran crew. Veteran crew status can be obtained by applying for it on the discord and filling out the respective form and submitting a ticket.

In the case your application has been rejected and you did not gain entry try again another time and listen closely to the feedback you got from staff about your ticket!

Step 4, The rules and you

Rules on Skyrat are regularly updated and temporary measures/rulings are posted on numerous occasions. So it is generally good practice to keep an eye on the rule docs that are relevant to the roles and departments you play. The server rules themselves and the extensive list of docs can be found in #server-rules on the discord while rulings on certain topics and issues can be found in their own channels: #established-rulings and #placeholder-rulings the latter of the two is used for issues that need staff intervention and have to do with newly discovered issues or exploits in the game.
