The Tenants of Security

- Don't call for backup on minor crimes. Examples include hacking into maintenance rooms.

- You have no earthly business assuming that the shift will ever go tits up, till it does. As a general rule it's rather classy to wait till the alert goes up before getting passive powers, or the like.

- In character, its just generally frowned upon to be armed to the teeth. Anything more than 2 guns as an officer is more often than not hilariously excessive. The only exception to this is a blob. What's more, having a bunch of lethal weapons or just, having a lot of anything in general on green is a massive nono. As soon as it goes back down to green, the hardsuit and weaponry go back to the armory.

- Hey you know how we're supposed to be putting people in jail for possession of a deadly weapon? Yeah well makeshift ghetto swords count, and they're not standard issue. A secoff has no earthly business arresting someone for owning a sword they made if they've got one on their belt. Also literally why would you allow someone to just make a ghetto weapons depot.

- As a Warden, your rules in the brig are law. Even the HoS isn't allowed to overstep you when it comes to weapons claims.

- As the Warden you have four specific things you need to do. One: Keep an eye on Prisoners. Two: Keep an eye on the armory. Three: Handle prison times and know corp regs well. Four: Ensure security is as good faith as possible. The HoS is not the one that should be telling people how long they're in, and secoffs have no business setting timers without your approval. Also, if an officer refuses to turn in their gear at the proper times, seize it

- You can be a corrupt officer with the most minimal amount of RP, within reason. See someone hacking into somewhere? Your pockets could be padded. Just hate lizards? Smack around a few or just be rude in-character. Keep in mind if you don't RP being this way, and just casually stuncuff lizards, well... It was nice knowing you. Well. It wasn't. Because that's shite.

- Just because someone is eligible for execution that isn't a vampire or changeling does not mean you should be executing them immediately. Put them in Perma. See if they're actually containable first as long as they're not a confirmed vampire or changeling. Keep in mind, short of creating a playpen for either of these antags, they are not going to be containable. The exception is that you can put a changeling in solitary and they can't escape, but, that's also just gay baby jail, which is very not cash money.
