Station Control and Conflict Management Regulations (Space Law) SCCMR, colloquially known as ‘Space Law’, is Nanotrasen’s corporate law. Whilst Nanotrasen’s own security isn’t present on some frontier stations, Lopland security enforces corporate law.
Station Control and Conflict Management Regulations (Space Law) SCCMR, colloquially known as ‘Corporate Regulations’, is Nanotrasen’s corporate law. Whilst Nanotrasen’s own security isn’t present on some frontier stations, Lopland security enforces corporate law.

According to the laws of SolGov, NanoTransen lacks the authority or judicial privileges to execute an individual. Fortunately or perhaps unfortunately, such transgressions are rarely looked into on the frontiers.

SCCMR is not secret. The Head of Security & Centcom OFficials have in-depth knowledge of SCCMR. The Captain, Security, Head of Personnel, the Blueshield, the Lawyer(s) and Silicons are encouraged to have above-average knowledge of SCCMR. Everyone not mentioned has layman-level knowledge, apart from Antagonists, who can have as much knowledge on it as they like.

Injunctions
Injunctions are corrective measures to undesirable crew behaviour. They can be issued with misdemeanours and higher punishments in place of or in addition to regular penalties. Plea bargains are common causes for injunctions. Injunctions require a paper copy. The suspect is entitled to a copy, the original must be stored.

Injunctions have some terms:

• Injunctions may not prohibit work assignments.

• Injunctions may not last over thirty minutes.

• Injunctions may not prohibit the suspect from accessing essential services, such as medical treatment.

• Injunctions listed as a penalty require only the arresting officer’s approval.

• Injunctions not listed as a penalty require approval from the Warden, Head of Security or Captain (or acting).

• An injunction can be taken as a plea bargain and must always have the suspect’s signature. The suspect is entitled to a paper copy.

Corporate Regulations
Regulations are classed in one of four severity levels.

<span style="color:green">Misdemeanour</span> - Petty crimes that aren’t usually worth dedicating resources to imprisoning them nor is the crime severe enough to warrant imprisonment.

<span style="color:orange">Standard Felony</span> - Crimes that warrant imprisonment. These always start at a minimum of ten minutes punishment, regardless of any sentencing modifiers.

<span style="color:red">High-Level Felony</span> - Also regarded as a ‘severe felony’ or ‘heavy felony’. Crimes under this section are serious and may potentially warrant permanent imprisonment till transfer. Crimes usually start at twenty minutes, however, modifiers can reduce this.

<span style="color:brown">Capital Offence</span> - Committing a capital offense usually results in permanent imprisonment, consensual cyborgification or execution.

Sentencing
<span style="color:green">Misdemeanours</span> operate on the two strikes and you’re out principle.
After committing two separate <span style="color:green">misdemeanours</span>, any further misdemeanours are automatically upgraded to <span style="color:orange">Standard Felonies</span> thus meaning they automatically get a ten minute minimum sentence.

A <span style="color:green">misdemeanour</span> may be punished with a fine for immediate release. The time it takes to process the suspect is part of the punishment.

A <span style="color:orange">Standard Felony</span> starts at ten minutes and can never go below it. Each past felony relating to previous crimes should add ten minutes to the minimum sentence.

A <span style="color:red">High-Level Felony</span> starts at thirty minutes and can never go below it. For each past <span style="color:red">High-Level felony</span>, add thirty minutes to the minimum sentence.

A <span style="color:brown">Capital Offence</span> starts at permanent imprisonment until transfer. Plea deals can change the minimum sentence to sixty minutes.

Everyone is innocent until proven guilty. The standards for evidence increases with the severity of the crime. If an officer prevents a crime from occurring, the suspect has still committed the crime. Of course, murder being stopped results in attempted murder.
When someone is convicted of aiding and abetting, take the original suspect’s crime tier and give them the minimum sentence for that tier. Aiding someone accused of rape is a <span style="color:red">High-Level Felony</span>, thus should receive a thirty minute punishment.

Criminal Codes
Criminal Codes
Also known as ‘criminal tiers’.
Also known as ‘categories’. They are made out of three digits.

<span style="color:green">Codes 100-199 are misdemeanours.

<span style="color:orange">Codes 200-299 are Standard Felonies and start with ten minutes imprisonment.

<span style="color:red">Codes 300-399 are High-Level Felonies and start with thirty minutes imprisonment.
The first digit refers to what category of offence the crime is.

<span style="color:brown">Codes 400-499 are Capital Offences and start with imprisonment until transfer.
* <span style="color:green">Codes 1XX are misdemeanours.

<BR>
* <span style="color:yellow">Codes 2XX are Felonies and start with five minutes imprisonment.

Misdemeanours
* <span style="color:orange">Codes 3XX are Serious Felonies and start with ten minutes imprisonment.
A misdemeanour should remain private and can be expunged with good behaviour. In accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, many misdemeanours can be outright ignored during Red Alert.

<span style="color:green">101 - Trespassing</span>
* <span style="color:red">Codes 4XX are Major Felonies and start with fifteen minutes imprisonment.
Description & Conditions: To be in an area one has no access to, no legitimate access or failure to remove oneself after permission to occupy premises has been revoked. Crew members with access to the area may grant permissions to stay or revoke rights to stay, even when the occupied area is publically accessible (such as the bar or medbay lobby), with the department head having an absolute veto right on the matter. Trespassing never applies to maintenance or public hallways.

Penalties: 500 credit fine.
* <span style="color:brown">Codes 5XX are Capital Offences and start with imprisonment until transfer, but usually end in execution.
----
----
<span style="color:green">102 - Petty Theft</span>
The second digit refers to if the crime stacks with crimes of the same third digit in other categories (first digit).
Description & Conditions: Acquiring something from an area one has no access to and doing so without consent. Or creating a shortage of locale-specific items.
* X0X means the crime doesn't stack.

* X1X means the crime is standalone and unrelated to crimes in other categories or same third digit.
Penalties: 500 credit fine. Confiscation and return of stolen item(s).

OOC Notes: Newbie officers beware - this is the most common "innocent until proven guilty" mistake because simply owning something from a foreign department does not yet prove that it was acquired without consent. The "locale-specific items" refer to a lot of things that are meant to stay in a place instead of on-person, this includes fire-extinguishers, surgical tools, various engineering equipment, etc.
----
----
<span style="color:green">103 - Battery</span>
The third digit relates to the crime itself. 203 is a more serious version of 103, for example.
Description & Conditions: To cause or threaten minor physical harm to others or to have unwanted physical contact with someone regardless of the outcome. The victim may request that no punishment be given.

Penalties: 500 credit fine.
Some categories won't neatly go up from XX0 to XX9, they may have gaps.

OOC Notes: Whenever someone is forced into critical condition (100 damage), battery becomes assault regardless of intent. Continual hugging or headpatting can count as battery if the suspect continues after being requested to stop. Threats count as battery, regardless of how dire they are. Stamcrit (140 stamloss) is battery and not assault.
Crime Stacking
----
<span style="color:green">104 - Vandalism</span>
Description & Conditions: Deliberately causing damage and/or defacing the station, property of the station, or property of friendly corporation(s).

Penalties: 500 credit fine in addition to paying the cost of any items destroyed.
The rules regarding crime stacking (charging someone with multiple crimes simultaneously) are:

OOC Notes: Ignore this crime on red alert. Breaking into medical on red alert to get a medkit to save someone’s life should never be punished. Littering counts as defacing the station.
* Crimes with the last digit never stack together (102/202/302/402).
----
<span style="color:green">105 - Breaking and Entering</span>
Description & Conditions: Entering areas the suspect is not authorised to be in by force.
* Crimes with the middle digit as 1 means the crime is standalone and not related to crimes in other tiers with the same last digit.

Penalties: 500 credit fine. Removal from the area and seizure of any stolen goods.
* Crimes may specify in their notes that they do or do not stack with certain other crimes.
----

<span style="color:green">106 - Rubbernecking</span>
* Crimes which are very similar (e.g: contraband and drug possession, for the same item) cannot be stacked together. Charge only the most serious crime.
Description & Conditions: Observing a scene of an accident, crime or emergency in an unduly manner. The security department is not immune from rubbernecking, as not every engineering or medical emergency requires their presence. The first professional responder at the site of the emergency takes full authority on who is allowed to be present, with their supervisor being able to replace that authority at any time. Obstructing an arrest is included in this.

Penalties: Forceful removal from the area, optional 500 credit fine.
* Otherwise, crimes CAN be stacked together. e.g: you can charge someone with BOTH 208 breaking and entering AND 107 petty theft for breaking in and stealing something. The timers are added together.

OOC Notes: This exists to help crew do their jobs without having to read everyone's comments or obstruct through their sheer physical presence, medbay staff may also utilize this to prevent people from stealing their job, as is very common. Example: an engineer arrives after an assistant at a meteor hull breach because they are the "professional responder", they may order the assistant to vacate the area, even if they were trying to help initially. Even after officers and onlookers arrive, they may be ordered and warned to stay away, as meteor breaches are a pure engineering emergency in most cases. Apart from that first responding engineer, only the CE may decide who's rubbernecking or not. Obstructing arrest by actively aiding a criminal’s evasion of arrest is considered aiding and abetting.
Brig Procedures
----
<span style="color:green">107 - Animal Cruelty</span>
Special precautions are to be taken aside from Standard Brigging Procedures:
* Ask Vox or Plasmamen prisoners where their Internals Tank is located. Do not remove this tank, as it will kill them. In such a case where their clothes have to be changed, expedience is mandatory.
* All Contraband is to be confiscated and placed in Evidence Storage, this includes tools used in a crime. These are not to be returned.
* Make routine checks on the Permabrig, Solitary or Labor Camp areas if they happen to be occupied.

Description & Conditions: Inflicting suffering upon animals without research or foodservice intent.
Legal Representation and Trials
Penalties: 500 credit fine.

OOC Notes: The chaplain may have a hard time performing animal sacrifices this way. The chef stealing Ian to make hamburgers is intentionally left up to interpretation.
----
<span style="color:green">108 - Disorderly Conduct</span>
Description & Conditions: Engaging in sexual acts in public, being inadequately dressed, being drunk on duty. Staff that are given alcohol as a radiation treatment are never to be punished under this law, however, they can be held until adequately sober if necessary.
Use of Deadly Force
As a security officer on the frontier, you'll find much less support when things go wrong. Nanotrasen's presence isn't always popular, and if an alien government gets riled up, you better believe Nanotrasen will extradite your sorry ass at the first opportunity to stop a fuss.
You're therefore heavily encouraged to use non-lethals and less-than-lethals where possible. It's not just for politics, bringing people back alive is valuable. Even in the age of cloning, those who are brought back suffer memory loss at best - enough loss to throw out a court case, and horrifying brain and bodily traumas at worst.
Your safety is still important, though, and there are instances where lethals are authorised.
* Non-Lethals Ineffective - Out on the frontier, some threats can shrug disabler bolts and taser electrodes. If a target is dosed up with stamina-regenerating drugs, switch to lethal options.
* Target Too Dangerous - When a target is armed with weapons more powerful than your own and there is reasonable suspicion that they'll use those weapons, usage of lethals may be overlooked. If someone has a grenade, it's probably best to render them incapable of using it and revive them later. It is always preferable to detain instead of destroy, though. If you use lethal force on someone who can be detained, you should always attempt to revive them securely afterwards.
* Target Invaluable - The frontiers have many gifts. One of these gifts are Xenomorphs. Say thank you to this gift with your laser gun. It is impolite to use disabler bolts on malfunctioning combat robots. They will not flinch.
If you're unsure if you should use lethal force, assume that you're getting a court-martial in-game nad bwoinked out of game for it. Can you justify your actions? If so, you're very likely fine with using lethal force. Just remember, you need to revive peo

Penalties: 500 credit fine. Drunk people can be held until adequately sober in a holding cell. Repeated drunkenness can result in compulsory psychological evaluation. Nude people can be forcefully covered up and dressed.
Enemies of the Corporation
OOC Notes: Species that have genitalia covered by fur can be punished by this law. It is intentionally left vague to allow in-character roleplayed racism to occur. If you arrest someone in cloning or surgery for nudity, you’re consenting to the probable security ban.
Occasionally, you will encounter personnel that are working for an enemy of Nanotrasen (such as the Syndicate) and/or are working to undermine Nanotrasen's operations.

Standard Felony
Current enemies of Nanotrasen include but are not limited to: The Syndicate (through secret agents, boarding parties, and brainwashing specialists), the Space Wizards Federation, Changelings, Shadowlings, Vampires, and other intelligent hostile forms of life that seek to cause major damage to the station and or crew.
Punishments for a Standard Felony usually start at ten minutes and increase by an additional ten minutes based on severity. Remember this as a rule of thumb.
The Warden, Head of Security and Captain (or acting) may request psychological evaluations if deemed necessary and facilities are available. The aforementioned people can decide to conditionally release suspects with no penalty if they receive a psychological evaluation.

<span style="color:orange">201 - Insubordination
* Execution/Imprisonment - If an Enemy of the Corporation has not committed any Capital Crimes they are to be placed in Permanent Imprisonment (Permabrig/Solitary/Labor Camp/Exile) without exception. Otherwise, Execution is permitted at the discretion of the Magistrate. If no Magistrate has been assigned, or is otherwise unable to authorize an execution, the Captain may authorize executions in accordance with Legal Standard Operating Procedure.
Description & Conditions: Ignoring a reasonable order from a superior officer, such as a head of staff.

Penalty: Demotion upon the discretion of the superior officer, Stacks with creating a workplace hazard. Ten minute sentences are optional for this if demotion occurs. Always let the superior officer
* Uncontainable EoCs - Hatched Shadowlings are to be killed on sight. Powered Vampires, or any other Enemies of the Corporation that cannot be contained safely in the Brig, are to be executed or exiled irrespective of their crimes. Head Revolutionaries are to be executed or exiled as soon as they are positively identified. Being a space-proof species does not constitute being impossible to contain.

OOC Notes: This requires orders to be reasonable. A superior officer cannot spew out ‘reasonable’ orders in the hopes of catching someone out to demote them. Your job is not to determine if the superior officer is giving reasonable orders. Your job is to assist in the demotion, not play judge. Inform the suspect in LOOC that they should ahelp if they feel that the superior officer requesting a demotion is metagrudging them or being unreasonable. You may request an investigation into the superior officer’s conduct.
* Changelings/Testimony - All changelings are to be considered hostile alien lifeforms and a direct threat to all personnel. All changelings are to be killed on sight and immediately cremated. Forensic evidence and/or direct testimony from Mindshielded personnel is necessary to establish proof. Personnel who provide false testimony are to be charged with Murder if the supposed changeling is killed and attempted murder if it is not.
This law should be used to weed out people who refuse to perform the duties they signed up for. Incompetence is not punishable by anything other than demotion at the discretion of the superior officer.
----
<span style="color:orange">202 - Violating an injunction
Description & Conditions: Violating the terms of an injunction.

Penalties: For a Standard Felony, an injunction violation starts at ten minutes imprisonment. For a High-Level Felony, an injunction starts at twenty minutes imprisonment. Injunctions may have more severe punishments if the original injunction was authorised and stamped by the Warden, Head of Security or Captain (or acting).
* Surrendering EoCs - Enemies of the Corporation that willingly turn themselves into Security of their own accord are to be kept in Permanent Imprisonment so long as they aren't impossible to contain. Defectors and captives are to be transported to Central Command via the Crew Transfer Shuttle; they are to be treated as dangerous enemies, but also protected from retribution and provided for.

OOC Notes: Injunctions are meant for people that harass others such as by constantly stalking, abuse their privileges such as constantly trash talk on the radio, or otherwise "walk the line" on legalities. One could technically tell a clown to stop making jokes on the radio, but it would be poor form. To help prevent ridiculous injunctions, it has to be an agreement between both the HoS and the Captain, except for the penalty ones.
* Parole for EoCs - Parole can be offered to Enemies of the Corporation at the discretion of the Captain or Magistrate. This should only happen in emergencies where extra hands are desperately needed. Paroled Enemies of the Corporation are to be stripped of all their belongings and given basic Civilian access.
----
<span style="color:orange">203 - Assault
Description & Conditions: Causing grievous bodily harm to someone. Putting the victim in critical condition, causing loss of limb or organ failure. The victim may request that no punishment be given.

Penalties: Ten minutes baseline. Add ten minutes with assault with intent.
Additional Clarifications
Executions can be done only by electric chair, lethal injection, firing squad, gas inhalation or asphyxiation. Other means of Execution are illegal unless a prisoner requests them. Cyborgification, either as a means of execution or posthumously, is also a valid option. See Legal Standard Operating Procedure for more information regarding executions.
* In cases where the final sentence is equal to or greater than 60 minutes, it is to be changed to a Permanent Imprisonment sentence.
* The greater good of the station should be considered when sentencing. If someone breaks into the AI Core to destroy a malfunctioning AI there is no need to charge them. Likewise, if the station is under attack by Nuclear Operatives you probably shouldn't be brigging people for trespassing. The intent of Space Law is to protect the station and the crew, not to hinder them.

OOC Notes: Critical condition is 100 damage. Stamcrit (140 stamloss) is not included. If the suspect stops attacking somewhere between soft crit and hard crit (150 damage), it is not attempted murder. If the suspect is continuously attacking a suspect in critical and is only stopped by others or an officer, you can reasonably assume it is attempted murder.

Punishments
<span style="color:orange">204 - Medical Malpractice
Description & Conditions: Practising medicine as a doctor on a patient without their consent or otherwise betraying the trust of the patient. Denying medical treatment to someone in need as a doctor. A psychiatrist/psychotherapist may evaluate and issue a documented veto on anybody's ability to consent to treatment.

Penalties: Mandatory demotion. If malpractice causes unrevivable death, charge for manslaughter. With provable intent, this is annihilation.

| style="width: 9em;"  | Punishment
| style="width: 17em;"  | Description
| style="width: 24em;" | Procedure
|-
! Fines
| Fines are used to recoup losses, they should be used infrequently and only when crimes call for it.
| Simply ask the suspect to withdraw money from their ID via holochip. If they refuse to pay, you cannot take money from the ID yourself. This is a crime called robbery.
|-
! Demotion
| Demotions can only be done with the permission of the suspect's department head. The Head of Security has no authority to demote people outside their department unless the Head of Security is the acting captain. The suspect's head must be aware and must consent to their subordinate's demotion. The only exception is explicit support from Nanotrasen Central Command or Lopland Security is given.
| Get permission from the suspect's head, the Captain, Central or Lopland. Failure to do so is a breach of Lopland's work contract and grounds for immediate demotion. Assume the suspect is about to run away, as they usually will. Ensure they do not have a viable escape route. Ask politely for their ID to be handed other and have their head of staff of the head of personnel to change demote the suspect. If they don't give their ID, ask nicely again. If they keep refusing, you may take it forcefully.
|-
! Confiscation
| You may TEMPORARILY confiscate items from a person during their stay in the prig. Put these items in the locker in (or just outside of) their holding cell. If you can confirm items are stolen, you must return them to whomever they belong. You cannot keep them for yourself.
| Take items from suspects and put them into the locker in (or just outside of) the holding cell. If the item is an unauthorised firearm, you may store it evidence lockers. If you arrest an engineer, take their power tools and insulated gloves and keep them for yourself, this is robbery and grounds for demotion. Do not steal.
|-
! Interrogation
| You may take interrogate suspects, however, the level of interrogation must be appropriate to their crime. For Major Felonies and Capital Offences, light torture may be authorised. Do not torture people after the confess for 'revenge', ever.
| OOC Warning: You !!MUST!! gain OOC consent for any torture beyond severe beatings and bone-cracking. Intricately detailed torture roleplay requires consent, else you are in permaban territory for pref breaks. Forcing someone to do hard gore RP without OOC consent has no place here, don't be that sort of creep.
|-
! Forced Labour
| Putting someone in the labour camp is a valid punishment if the suspect consents to it or the punishment allows it. Suspects have to mine a certain amount to be released.
| Give suspects a point goal and use the labour camp teleporter. Recover the suspects with the shuttle and let them use the equipment reclamation station (wall-mounted blue computer). Monitor the suspects and keep an eye on them from time to time. Check up on them and make sure they aren't dead.
|-
! Detention in Holding Cell
| Holding cells are TEMPORARY. Unless your facility lacks a general population prison or the aforementioned prison is uninhabitable or (somehow) full, you should not use the holding cells for any punishment over ten minutes.
| Confiscate any items that could be used to escape, place the prisoner in the holding cell and set the timer. You may not strip a suspect naked. Actually look at what they're wearing before you start taking articles of clothing. Orange prison clothing is optional for holding cells, however, the suspect must be taken to a changing room if you want them to wear orange prison clothing. Note: Martial artists lose their right to bodily privacy. You may strip them without consent.
|-
! Detention in General Population Prison
| Common for more serious crimes. Genpop is where suspects with long sentences and hold until transfer sentences stay.
| Take the prisoner to the processing room and stand them on the locker, take everything but their jumpsuit (or whatever is covering their nakedness) off and interact with the locker to get a prisoner ID. Set the prisoner's name, crime and duration. Take the clothing out and let the suspect change in the changing room and leave their clothes in the changing room floor. Escort the prisoner into the prison. You may optionally assign them a cell. Go to the changing room and take their clothing and put it in the locker. Your security ID should open the locker up. That's it, you're done. Once the prisoner's sentence is up, their ID will allow them to get to the locker, get their belongings and change back. You will have to retrieve the prisoner and escort them out of the prison, though.
|-
! Hold until Transfer
| Often referred to as 'perma sentence'. Prisoners are held and once the shift ends, transferred to Central through the evacuation shuttle.
| Same procedure as genpop, however, you must escort the prisoner to the shuttle and take them to Central. It is acceptable to use escape pods, however, you must keep the prisoner cuffed.
|-
! Executions
| Should only be done for excessively violent prisoners that have tried to escape permanent confinement more than once or prisoners that cannot be safely contained. Cyborgisation should be offered as an alternative.
| Use execution procedures. Cremation, firing lines and lethal injections are the usual procedures, with cremations being the options for suspects who can revive themselves after death or are immune to lethal injection and firing lines only.
|}

OOC Notes: Patients cannot waive off their consent retrospectively, there must be proof that they resisted before or during the treatment. Without prior knowledge, unconscious patients always consent. This is not exclusive with crimes that may be caused during the malpractice, but additional charges should be reserved for severe cases where for instance someone was receiving surgery against their will (assault). This may also be used for deceptive or outright incompetent doctors for "betraying the trust of the patient", however, just making a mistake is no grounds for malpractice.

Penalty: 15 minutes. 30 minutes and mandatory demotion for repeat offenders. Confiscation of items that are involved in the offence.
Use this to quickly find Modifiers and their values. You can click on the name of a modifier to immediately navigate to it.

OOC Notes: This is both to prevent powergaming ICly and to have a precursor to mutiny. Examples would be HoP's involving themselves in security situations for "acts beyond designated profession", the warden trying to coordinate the security team when being told not to by the HoS for "disrespecting the command chain", general doomsday prepping or unauthorized all-access IDs for "excessive amassing of power".
Some modifiers, such as Repeat Offender, Aiding and Abetting, and Parole have special clauses and conditions.

|Battery
|Battery
| To cause or threaten physical harm or unwanted physical contact. Usually done without weapons.
| 100 Credits fine & one strike.
| Hitting someone with a weapon once or twice is battery. A sustained attack upon someone is considered assault. You don't need a health anaylzer to determine the difference. The victim may request no punishment be given. Continual headpatting or hugging should be considered battery if they refuse to stop after being asked multiple times.
|-
! 102
|Petty Theft
|Petty Theft
| To take items from an item where one does not have access to without permission or creates a shortage of necessary items by hoarding.
| Confiscation of stolen items.
| An assistant stealing a hand drill from engineering is considered petty theft. Hoarding items can also be considered petty theft. An engineer hoarding all of the insulated gloves on their person or stashing them and not revealing where they are is considered petty theft. Hoarding something like hardsuits is a more serious crime.
|-
! 103
|Vandalism
|Vandalism
| Deliberately causing damage and/or defacing the station, property of the station, or property of friendly corporation(s).
| 100 credits fine & one strike. Victim should have to refund any damages they caused.
| Breaking into medical with a dying person on your back to save them should obviously not be punished.
|-
! 104
|Disorderly Conduct
|Disorderly Conduct
| To deliberately be unclothed in public and to expose one's genitals to an unwilling public, or to disturb the peace.
| Cover anyone exposed and take place drunk and/or drugged people in the holding cell until they have adequately sobered up.
| Going around yelling slurs at people is disturbing the peace. Insulting one or two people isn't. This is usually done under the influence of alcohol and/or other drugs.
|-
! 105
|Trespass
|Trespass
| To be in an area one does not have access to without the permission of someone who has access in the area and the authority to give it or to rubberneck an emergency situation.
| Removal from the area.
| People can be let in, sneak in or break in. Always ensure which happened and choose the correct crime. Rubbernecking is running up to an emergency situation to stare at it. If there is a hostage situation on the bridge, running up to the entrance to stare into the bridge is a bad form of rubbernecking, it's blocking an entrance. Staring through the bridge window doesn't block anything, however, it agitates the hostage-taker, which is serious.
|-
! 106
|Minor Contraband
|Minor Contraband
| To possess minor contraband items without authorisation, such as space drugs, ambrosia, krokodil, crank, meth, aranesp, bath salts, THC, or other narcotics.
| Confiscation of contraband items.
| Narcotics can be held for medical reasons, such as it being a cure to a virus.
|-
! 109
|Resisting Arrest
|Resisting Arrest
| To resist an officer who attempts a proper arrest or search.
| Personnel that have been illegitimately arrested cannot be charged with this law. Screaming over comms is not Resisting Arrest. The person must be actively attempting to either run away, or attack the arresting officer.
|}

OOC Notes: Only the Captain (or acting), Head of Security (or acting) may authorise distribution and usage of security encryption keys. Only the Captain (or acting) can authorise command-included encryption keys. Heavily relax enforcement of this law on red alert if it can be proved that the crime was not done with malicious intent. Setting up a hidden microphone counts as eavesdropping.
Medium Crimes
<hr>
All of these crimes are punishable by a sentence of 5 to 10 minutes at the discretion of Security.

High-Level Felony
<div style="display: grid; float: right;">
A High-Level Felony starts at 30 minutes imprisonment and goes up to permanent imprisonment until transfer. The suspect’s superior officer should be informed and the crime may be used as ground for demotion.
<div style="float: right;">
The Warden, Head of Security and Captain (or acting) may request psychological evaluations if deemed necessary and facilities are available. The aforementioned people can decide to conditionally release suspects with no penalty if they receive a psychological evaluation.

|-
! 202
|Creating a Workplace Hazard
|Creating a Workplace Hazard
| To endanger the crew or station through negligent but not deliberately malicious actions.
| 10 minutes, demotion is optional to the head of the suspect's department.
| Causing a plasma leak, venting rooms to space and security not securing their equipment are all examples of workplace hazards.
|-

OOC Notes: You should first resolve the matter in LOOC if you feel uncomfortable with how a sexual scene is being forced onto your character. Be civil. If that fails, contact staff. These matters need to be resolved or agreed upon OOCly, as sexual assault is a purely roleplaying crime. Remember that sexual harassment, such as ass slaps or groping, does not equate to sexual assault. Sexual harassment is not covered by SCCMR; however, If you wish to prosecute a sexual harasser, use an injunction. It is a highly flexible roleplaying tool. Remember, if anything sexual is done to your character without your OOC consent, voice your discomfort in a firm but civil manner. If that fails, contact staff immediately.
! 201
You are allowed to intervene in a kidnapping attempt. This continues to hold true, even if the perpetrator is able to escape successfully to a private area with the victim, given that they were discovered during the kidnapping process. No LOOC consent is needed to break up the scene other than compliance with our roleplaying and escalation standards. On the other hand, if you accidentally stumble across a scene in a private area, treat it like a private ERP scene as stated in our ERP policy.
|Kidnapping
----
|Kidnapping
<span style="color:red">302 - Sabotage of Station Infrastructure
| To hold a crewmember under duress or against their will.
Description & Conditions: To be maliciously destructive to the station, its assets or its general workflow. Hoarding engineering or atmospheric hardsuits during Supermatter Crystal delamination is sabotage.
| Physical harm is not required for this law to apply: the crewmember must kept in, or forcefully relocated to, a location against their will and be prevented from leaving. Cuffing/Restraining any personnel against their will, outside of legal arrests, qualifies as Kidnapping. For kidnapping of Command/Security see Kidnapping of an Officer.
|-
! 202
|Assault
|Assault
| To use excessive physical force against someone without the apparent intent to kill them.
| To cause serious but non-critical harm to another crewmember including, but not limited to, forcible/deceptive ingestion of toxic or illicit substances. For life-threatening harm, see Aggravated Assault.
|-
! 203
|Robbery
|Robbery
| To steal items from another's person.
| Confiscation and return of stolen items to their owner.
| This is specifically from stealing something owned by another person or high-importance departmental items. Guns from security, engineering and atmospherics hardsuits are high-importance departmental items. An EVA suit is not, because an engineering hardsuit is a requirement for stopping a supermatter delamination due to its radiation-proofing. An atmospherics hardsuit is required for plasma fires, because of its heat-proofing.
|-
! 204
|Rioting
|Rioting
| Partaking in a violent gathering or failing to follow a lawful order to disperse an unlawful assembly.
| Ten minutes.
| For rubbernecking, see Trespass. An assembly becomes unlawful once it turns violent, however, the suspect should be given a fair chance to disperse. A suspect who walks past a riot is not partaking in it. If a group is rioting, you cannot declare everyone who doesn't disperse from "the East side of the station" a rioter.
|-
! 205
|Breaking and Entering
|Breaking and Entering
| Forceful entry to an area one does not have access to.
| Ten minutes
| This law only applies if there is entry to the area. Breaking and not entering is not a crime, it is likely vandalism. Check for the reason someone has forcefully entered an area. An engineer forcing their way to the teleporter room to upgrade the teleporter after being ignored for calls for someone to legitimately open the room should be ignored. For breaking into secure areas, see Major Trespass.
|-
! 203
|Narcotics Distribution
|Narcotics Distribution
| To distribute narcotics and other controlled substances. This includes ambrosia and space drugs. It is not illegal for them to be grown.
| Forcing or tricking someone to consume illicit or harmful substances, such as space drugs, is Assault. For non-distributed drugs used for recreation, see Drug Possession.
|-
! 204
|Possession of a Weapon
|Possession of a Weapon
| To be in possession of a dangerous item that is not part of one's job.
| Items capable of a high level of damage such as saws, axes, spears, stunprods, and hatchets fit into this category. If the item is part of someone's assigned duties they are permitted to carry it. For restricted weapons, see Possession of a Restricted Weapon.
|-
! 205
|Rioting
|Rioting
| To partake in an unauthorized and disruptive assembly of crewmen.
| It is required to order the crowd to disperse; failure to disperse is the crime, not the assembly itself. Crimes committed during the riot are considered separate offenses. For the ringleader of a riot, see Inciting a Riot.
|-
! 206
|Abuse of Confiscated Equipment
|Abuse of Confiscated Equipment
| To take and use equipment confiscated as evidence.
| Evidence is not to be used for anything but evidence with the exception of the Syndicate Encryption Key. Anything used in a crime is considered evidence, this includes everything from tools, to guns, to emags. For general abuse of security equipment, see Abuse of Equipment.
|-
! 208
|Breaking and Entering
|Breaking and Entering
| Forced entry to areas where the subject does not have access to. This counts for general areas.
| Actual entry needs to occur for this law to apply. Damage to external surfaces without entry is to be considered Damage to Station Assets. Does not stack with Damage to Station Assets unless damages also occurred after entry. For secure areas, see Major Trespass.

OOC Notes: Pay attention to the intent. An accidental gas leak is a workplace hazard, but intentionally filling a room with plasma is sabotage. Causing hull breaches, panic syphons or any sort of destruction with the potential to harm turns a workplace hazard or simple vandalism into sabotage of station infrastructure. Destroying borgs that are suspected rogue is fine, but without greater reason, it counts as "malicious destruction of assets". Being destructive to "general workflow" describes strategically cutting/shutting off power in an area, blocking an area off, but also more clever forms of sabotage such as dismantling the cloner. Taking a hardsuit for yourself or hiding it is just theft, but taking all hardsuits or tossing them away is robbing the station of a basic function and is, therefore, sabotage of the infrastructure, that is why intent is important.

Manslaughter comes in many forms, from causing an accident to excessive self-defence scenarios. When processing a manslaughter suspect ask yourself these questions: How direct is the involvement of the suspect to justify this? (Is it suspect causes X that causes death, or is it suspect causes X scenario that causes Y that leads to death?) What was the suspect trying to achieve? (How much did they go out of their way to attack the victim?) How, if at all, are they justifying the death of the victim? (Was keeping the victim inside a burning room an attempt to kill them, or to prevent the spread of the fire?).

Penalties: Thirty minutes baseline with aggravated attempted murder. Forty minutes for non-aggravated attempted murder minimum. Sixty minutes minimum for murder. Permanent imprisonment until transfer is optional and encouraged when the suspect has multiple felonies. Tracking and/or chemical impacts are mandatory either before imprisonment or upon release.

Description & Conditions: Serious incitement to mutiny is treated as mutiny. A revolt against command staff is mutiny. Penalties: Permanent imprisonment until transfer. Mutineers can be pardoned to a minimum of thirty minutes, however, leaders of the mutiny may not.

OOC Notes: Delivering mutineers to Central is for roleplay; you are not required to keep mutineers alive if they repeatedly attempt to break out of prison. ----
<span style="color:red">307 - Escaping Confinement
Description & Conditions: Breaking out of imprisonment or attempting to break others out of confinement.

Penalties: Upgrade the suspect’s sentence to permanent imprisonment until transfer. Upon committing this crime on the second time, a suspect can be considered too violent to contain and may be given capital punishment with proper authorisation.

OOC Notes: Always give suspects a chance to escape prison. Instantly executing someone who tries to break out once or locking them in a 1x1 is incredibly unfun, give them a single chance to escape, if they try again, you don’t have to break your back to contain them and can request an execution.
Approach escaping with good faith. If the suspect attempts to escape non-violently once, do not instantly go for executions unless the station is at Red Alert due to other threats that require security’s full attention. You are not permitted to lock people in a 1x1 inescapable room with no timer and leave them there.

Capital Offence
Tracking and/or chemical implants are mandatory at this level. Only the Captain (or acting) can authorise an execution. Requests for executions must go up the chain of command. The Head of Security must agree to the execution, however, the Captain (or acting) can overrule this as needed. Execution should only be considered if necessary. According to the laws of SolGov, NanoTransen lacks the authority or judicial privileges to execute an individual. Fortunately or perhaps unfortunately, such transgressions are rarely noticed on the frontiers.
Suspects can request consensual only cyborgification as an alternative capital punishment to execution. Capital criminals are never to be resurrected, regardless of the circumstances of their death.
The Head of Security (or acting) must authorise a Capital Offence sentence.

OOC Notes: Suspects must be informed that if the victim’s brain has been hidden, their punishment can be downgraded to murder if the suspect cooperates and reveals the location of the brain. Gibbing a victim, especially with bombs, is annihilation if they do not have a cloning record.

| To be in possession of a restricted weapon without authorization such as: Guns, Batons, Non-Beneficial Grenades/Explosives, etc.
| Any item that can cause severe bodily harm carried by an unauthorized person. The Bartender is permitted their shotgun and beanbag rounds. The Captain and Head of Security can issue weapon permits. | You may push for execution if the suspect is violent and cannot be contained. If the suspect is non-violent, contact Central Command for a verdict. (OOC: This is a protection from over-zealous security players who are incapable of acting in good-faith.)
|Assault of an Officer
| To use excessive physical force against a member of Command or Security without the apparent intent to kill them.
| To cause serious but non-life threatening harm to a member of Command or Security. For disarming, grabbing, or stunning an officer during an arrest, see Resisting Arrest. Battery, Assault, and Aggravated Assault do not stack with this charge.

Execution Procedures
Exceptional Crimes
Unlawful executions are considered manslaughter if the execution was the cause of incompetence. When evidence shows the execution was not caused by incompetence, the punishment is murder, or when relevant, annihilation.
<hr>
All of these crimes can result in Permanent Prison Time, Exile, or Permanent Labor Camp Time.

* Only the Magistrate, Captain, Head of Security, and Warden can authorize a Permanent Sentence or Exile.

Executions may be done either by lethal injection or by firing squad.
* If a prisoner requests an Execution or Cyborgization, they may be given one.

Don’t get greedy and over-extend yourselves. When stepping into riot situations without intelligence, it’s incredibly easy to get ambushed. Once a single officer falls and is captured, all of the security comms are compromised and now the rioters have access to security as well as security equipment.
| Knowingly assisting a criminal is a crime. This includes but is not limited to: interfering with an arrest, stealing a prisoner in transit, breaking a prisoner out of the brig/prison, hiding a fugitive, and willingly rendering medical aid. If the aided prisoner ends up receiving no charges, apply five minutes to the offender. Central Command Directive

Шаблон:Glossarytable

Preface

Your primary objective as security and/or antagonist is to create the best roleplay opportunities possible for the server and the biggest net-gain of fun for everyone involved. This is how you actually win at the game.

Introduction

Criminal Codes

Also known as ‘categories’. They are made out of three digits.

The first digit refers to what category of offence the crime is.

 • Codes 1XX are misdemeanours.
 • Codes 2XX are Felonies and start with five minutes imprisonment.
 • Codes 3XX are Serious Felonies and start with ten minutes imprisonment.
 • Codes 4XX are Major Felonies and start with fifteen minutes imprisonment.
 • Codes 5XX are Capital Offences and start with imprisonment until transfer, but usually end in execution.

The second digit refers to if the crime stacks with crimes of the same third digit in other categories (first digit).

 • X0X means the crime doesn't stack.
 • X1X means the crime is standalone and unrelated to crimes in other categories or same third digit.

The third digit relates to the crime itself. 203 is a more serious version of 103, for example.

Some categories won't neatly go up from XX0 to XX9, they may have gaps.

Crime Stacking

The rules regarding crime stacking (charging someone with multiple crimes simultaneously) are:

 • Crimes with the last digit never stack together (102/202/302/402).
 • Crimes with the middle digit as 1 means the crime is standalone and not related to crimes in other tiers with the same last digit.
 • Crimes may specify in their notes that they do or do not stack with certain other crimes.
 • Crimes which are very similar (e.g: contraband and drug possession, for the same item) cannot be stacked together. Charge only the most serious crime.
 • Otherwise, crimes CAN be stacked together. e.g: you can charge someone with BOTH 208 breaking and entering AND 107 petty theft for breaking in and stealing something. The timers are added together.

Brig Procedures Handcuffs.png

Special precautions are to be taken aside from Standard Brigging Procedures:

 • Ask Vox or Plasmamen prisoners where their Internals Tank is located. Do not remove this tank, as it will kill them. In such a case where their clothes have to be changed, expedience is mandatory.
 • All Contraband is to be confiscated and placed in Evidence Storage, this includes tools used in a crime. These are not to be returned.
 • Make routine checks on the Permabrig, Solitary or Labor Camp areas if they happen to be occupied.

Legal Representation and Trials Gavel.png

Use of Deadly Force Файл:Laser.png

 • Non-Lethals Ineffective - Out on the frontier, some threats can shrug disabler bolts and taser electrodes. If a target is dosed up with stamina-regenerating drugs, switch to lethal options.
 • Target Too Dangerous - When a target is armed with weapons more powerful than your own and there is reasonable suspicion that they'll use those weapons, usage of lethals may be overlooked. If someone has a grenade, it's probably best to render them incapable of using it and revive them later. It is always preferable to detain instead of destroy, though. If you use lethal force on someone who can be detained, you should always attempt to revive them securely afterwards.
 • Target Invaluable - The frontiers have many gifts.

Enemies of the Corporation Emag.png

Occasionally, you will encounter personnel that are working for an enemy of Nanotrasen (such as the Syndicate) and/or are working to undermine Nanotrasen's operations.

 • Execution/Imprisonment - If an Enemy of the Corporation has not committed any Capital Crimes they are to be placed in Permanent Imprisonment (Permabrig/Solitary/Labor Camp/Exile) without exception. Otherwise, Execution is permitted at the discretion of the Magistrate. If no Magistrate has been assigned, or is otherwise unable to authorize an execution, the Captain may authorize executions in accordance with Legal Standard Operating Procedure.
 • Uncontainable EoCs - Hatched Shadowlings are to be killed on sight.
 • Changelings/Testimony - All changelings are to be considered hostile alien lifeforms and a direct threat to all personnel. All changelings are to be killed on sight and immediately cremated. Forensic evidence and/or direct testimony from Mindshielded personnel is necessary to establish proof. Personnel who provide false testimony are to be charged with Murder if the supposed changeling is killed and attempted murder if it is not.
 • Surrendering EoCs - Enemies of the Corporation that willingly turn themselves into Security of their own accord are to be kept in Permanent Imprisonment so long as they aren't impossible to contain. Defectors and captives are to be transported to Central Command via the Crew Transfer Shuttle; they are to be treated as dangerous enemies, but also protected from retribution and provided for.
 • Parole for EoCs - Parole can be offered to Enemies of the Corporation at the discretion of the Captain or Magistrate. This should only happen in emergencies where extra hands are desperately needed. Paroled Enemies of the Corporation are to be stripped of all their belongings and given basic Civilian access.

Additional Clarifications Файл:Filingcabopen.png

Executions can be done only by electric chair, lethal injection, firing squad, gas inhalation or asphyxiation. Other means of Execution are illegal unless a prisoner requests them. Cyborgification, either as a means of execution or posthumously, is also a valid option. See Legal Standard Operating Procedure for more information regarding executions.

 • In cases where the final sentence is equal to or greater than 60 minutes, it is to be changed to a Permanent Imprisonment sentence.
 • The greater good of the station should be considered when sentencing.

Space Law Файл:SpaceLaw.png

Punishments

Punishment Description Procedure
Fines Fines are used to recoup losses, they should be used infrequently and only when crimes call for it. Simply ask the suspect to withdraw money from their ID via holochip. If they refuse to pay, you cannot take money from the ID yourself. This is a crime called robbery.
Demotion Demotions can only be done with the permission of the suspect's department head.
Confiscation You may TEMPORARILY confiscate items from a person during their stay in the prig.
Interrogation You may take interrogate suspects, however, the level of interrogation must be appropriate to their crime.
Forced Labour Putting someone in the labour camp is a valid punishment if the suspect consents to it or the punishment allows it.
Detention in Holding Cell Holding cells are TEMPORARY.
Detention in General Population Prison Common for more serious crimes.
Hold until Transfer Often referred to as 'perma sentence'. Prisoners are held and once the shift ends, transferred to Central through the evacuation shuttle. Same procedure as genpop, however, you must escort the prisoner to the shuttle and take them to Central. It is acceptable to use escape pods, however, you must keep the prisoner cuffed.
Executions Should only be done for excessively violent prisoners that have tried to escape permanent confinement more than once or prisoners that cannot be safely contained. Cyborgisation should be offered as an alternative. Use execution procedures. Cremation, firing lines and lethal injections are the usual procedures, with cremations being the options for suspects who can revive themselves after death or are immune to lethal injection and firing lines only.

Code Crime Description Punishment Notes
101 Battery To cause or threaten physical harm or unwanted physical contact.
102 Petty Theft To take items from an item where one does not have access to without permission or creates a shortage of necessary items by hoarding.
103 Vandalism Deliberately causing damage and/or defacing the station, property of the station, or property of friendly corporation(s). 100 credits fine & one strike. Victim should have to refund any damages they caused. Breaking into medical with a dying person on your back to save them should obviously not be punished.
104 Disorderly Conduct To deliberately be unclothed in public and to expose one's genitals to an unwilling public, or to disturb the peace. Cover anyone exposed and take place drunk and/or drugged people in the holding cell until they have adequately sobered up. Going around yelling slurs at people is disturbing the peace. Insulting one or two people isn't. This is usually done under the influence of alcohol and/or other drugs.
105 Trespass To be in an area one does not have access to without the permission of someone who has access in the area and the authority to give it or to rubberneck an emergency situation.
106 Minor Contraband To possess minor contraband items without authorisation, such as space drugs, ambrosia, krokodil, crank, meth, aranesp, bath salts, THC, or other narcotics. Confiscation of contraband items. Narcotics can be held for medical reasons, such as it being a cure to a virus.
109 Resisting Arrest To resist an officer who attempts a proper arrest or search. Personnel that have been illegitimately arrested cannot be charged with this law. Screaming over comms is not Resisting Arrest. The person must be actively attempting to either run away, or attack the arresting officer.

Medium Crimes

All of these crimes are punishable by a sentence of 5 to 10 minutes at the discretion of Security.

Code Crime Description Punishment Notes
201 Файл:SL Assault.png Assault To cause serious physical harm to another crewmember without causing permanent or grievous injury. 10 minutes. Tricking others into ingesting, injecting or forcing others to ingest or inject harmful substances is considered assault.
202 Файл:SL Creating A Workplace Hazard.png Creating a Workplace Hazard To endanger the crew or station through negligent but not deliberately malicious actions. 10 minutes, demotion is optional to the head of the suspect's department. Causing a plasma leak, venting rooms to space and security not securing their equipment are all examples of workplace hazards.
201 Файл:SL Kidnapping.png Kidnapping To hold a crewmember under duress or against their will.
202 Файл:SL Assault.png Assault To use excessive physical force against someone without the apparent intent to kill them. To cause serious but non-critical harm to another crewmember including, but not limited to, forcible/deceptive ingestion of toxic or illicit substances. For life-threatening harm, see Aggravated Assault.
203 Файл:SL Robbery.png Robbery To steal items from another's person.
204 Файл:SL Rioting.png Rioting Partaking in a violent gathering or failing to follow a lawful order to disperse an unlawful assembly.
205 Файл:SL Breaking & Entering.png Breaking and Entering Forceful entry to an area one does not have access to. Ten minutes This law only applies if there is entry to the area.
203 Файл:SL Narcotics Distribution.png Narcotics Distribution To distribute narcotics and other controlled substances. This includes ambrosia and space drugs. It is not illegal for them to be grown. Forcing or tricking someone to consume illicit or harmful substances, such as space drugs, is Assault. For non-distributed drugs used for recreation, see Drug Possession.
204 Файл:SL Weapon Posession.png Possession of a Weapon To be in possession of a dangerous item that is not part of one's job. Items capable of a high level of damage such as saws, axes, spears, stunprods, and hatchets fit into this category. If the item is part of someone's assigned duties they are permitted to carry it. For restricted weapons, see Possession of a Restricted Weapon.
205 Файл:SL Rioting.png Rioting To partake in an unauthorized and disruptive assembly of crewmen. It is required to order the crowd to disperse; failure to disperse is the crime, not the assembly itself. Crimes committed during the riot are considered separate offenses. For the ringleader of a riot, see Inciting a Riot.
206 Файл:SL Abuse of Confiscated Equipment.png Abuse of Confiscated Equipment To take and use equipment confiscated as evidence. Evidence is not to be used for anything but evidence with the exception of the Syndicate Encryption Key. Anything used in a crime is considered evidence, this includes everything from tools, to guns, to emags. For general abuse of security equipment, see Abuse of Equipment.
208 Файл:SL Breaking & Entering.png Breaking and Entering Forced entry to areas where the subject does not have access to. This counts for general areas. Actual entry needs to occur for this law to apply. Damage to external surfaces without entry is to be considered Damage to Station Assets. Does not stack with Damage to Station Assets unless damages also occurred after entry. For secure areas, see Major Trespass.

Major Crimes

All of these crimes are punishable by a sentence of 10 to 15 minutes at the discretion of Security.

Code Crime Description Punishment Notes
300 Файл:SL Sabotage.png Sabotage To hinder the work of the crew or station through malicious actions. Deliberately releasing N2O, bolting doors, disabling power for a small area of the station, destroying cyborgs, and constructing barricades are all examples of sabotage. For more violent forms, see Grand Sabotage.
301 Файл:SL Kidnapping of an Officer.png Kidnapping of an Officer To hold a member of Command, Security, or any Central Command VIP under duress or against their will. Physical harm is not required for this law to apply: the crewmember must kept in, or forcefully relocated to, a location against their will and be prevented from leaving. Cuffing/Restraining any personnel against their will, outside of legal arrests, qualifies as Kidnapping of an Officer. For kidnapping of non-Command/Security, see Kidnapping.
302 Файл:SL Aggravated Assault.png Aggravated Assault To use excessive physical force resulting in severe or life-threatening harm. Breaking bones, disfiguring, causing internal bleeding, or otherwise putting someone into a critical state. If the victim dies as a result of their injuries, see Manslaughter or Murder.
304 Файл:SL Posession of a Restricted Weapon.png Possession of a Restricted Weapon To be in possession of a restricted weapon without authorization such as: Guns, Batons, Non-Beneficial Grenades/Explosives, etc. Any item that can cause severe bodily harm carried by an unauthorized person. The Bartender is permitted their shotgun and beanbag rounds. The Captain and Head of Security can issue weapon permits. For non-restricted weapons, see Possession of a Weapon. For detonation of explosives, see Sabotage or Grand Sabotage.
305 Файл:SL Inciting a Riot.png Inciting a Riot To attempt to stir the crew into a riot. The offender should also have restrictions placed on their radio traffic and be given a tracking implant. For second offenses or violent uprisings, see Mutiny.
306 Файл:SL Posession of Contraband.png Possession of Contraband To be in the possession of contraband items. Being in possession of S-grade contraband, or committing a major crime with contraband, makes you an Enemy of the Corporation. For information on what items are contraband see Contraband. Contraband items from the Gateway are covered by this law. Personnel turning in contraband to Security of their own volition are exempt from this law.
307 Файл:SL Theft.png Theft To steal restricted or dangerous items from either an area or one's person. Weapons fall into this category, as do valuable items that are in limited supply such as spacesuits, and jetpacks.
Breaking open Cargo crates to illegally arm/armor one's self, or cracking/drilling restricted area safes, is theft. For theft of minor valuables, see Petty Theft.
308 Файл:SL Major Trespass.png Major Trespass Being in a restricted area without prior authorization. This includes Security areas, Command areas (including EVA), the Engine Room, Atmos, or Toxins Research. To enter an area one lacks authorized ID access for through either forcible entry or an existing opening. For non-restricted areas, see Trespass.
309 Файл:SL Assault of an Officer.png Assault of an Officer To use excessive physical force against a member of Command or Security without the apparent intent to kill them. To cause serious but non-life threatening harm to a member of Command or Security. For disarming, grabbing, or stunning an officer during an arrest, see Resisting Arrest. Battery, Assault, and Aggravated Assault do not stack with this charge.

Exceptional Crimes

All of these crimes can result in Permanent Prison Time, Exile, or Permanent Labor Camp Time.

Файл:LawSabo.png
The Chief Engineer ransacks the RD's office and blows the borgs in an act of Grand Sabotage.
 • Only the Magistrate, Captain, Head of Security, and Warden can authorize a Permanent Sentence or Exile.
 • If a prisoner requests an Execution or Cyborgization, they may be given one.
 • Any prisoners that escape Permanent Imprisonment or Exile may be detained, executed or killed on sight at the discretion of Security.
Code Crime Description Punishment Notes
400 Compromising Station Integrity.PNG Grand Sabotage To engage in maliciously destructive actions which endanger the crew or station. Releasing damaging/lethal viruses, hotwiring the engine, disabling the gravity generator, disabling power for a department or equivalently large portion of the station, subverting or destroying the AI, opening several holes in the station hull, setting fire to large areas, detonating multiple cyborgs, and activating high-yield explosives all count as Grand Sabotage. For lesser acts, see Sabotage. If death was caused, see Murder.
401 Файл:SL Manslaughter.png Manslaughter To cause death to a person via deliberate attack or excessive negligence, without any intent to kill. Any effort to prevent the resuscitation or cloning of the victim raises this to Murder. If any evidence of intent exists, see Murder.
402 Attempted Murder.PNG Attempted Murder To use excessive physical force with intention to cause death. Use of lethal weaponry such as firearms and explosives are considered as intent to murder. If aid was rendered to the victim by the perpetrator afterwards, this may actually be Manslaughter.
407 Файл:SL Grand Theft.png Grand Theft To steal items of high value or sensitive nature from either an area or one's person. Theft of cutting-edge technology, documents, and research samples. Examples include hand teleporters, the Captain/Head of Security's Antique Laser, Captain/HoP level ID cards, mechas, and departmental door remotes. For theft of less important property, see Theft or Petty Theft.

Capital Crimes

All of these crimes can result in Execution, Permanent Prison Time, Permanent Labor Camp Time, Exile or Cyborgization.

 • Only the Magistrate, Captain, Head of Security, and Warden can authorize a Permanent Sentence or Exile.
 • Only the Magistrate or Captain can authorize an Execution or Forced Cyborgization.
 • If a prisoner requests an Execution or Cyborgization, they may be given one.
 • Any prisoners that escape Permanent Imprisonment or Exile may be detained, executed or killed on sight at the discretion of Security.
 • Any prisoners that escape from an Execution sentence are to be killed on sight.
Code Crime Description Punishment Notes
502 Murder.PNG Murder To deliberately and maliciously cause the death of another crewmember via direct or indirect means. Any effort to prevent the resuscitation or cloning of the victim is to be considered proof of Murder. Unauthorised executions are also considered Murder. If there is no evidence of intent, see Manslaughter.
505 Файл:SL Mutiny.png Mutiny To act individually, or as a group, to overthrow or subvert the established Chain of Command without lawful and legitimate cause. Mutiny is not as clear cut as it may seem, there may be a legitimate reason for their actions, such as their head of staff being utterly incompetent. Application of this crime should always be reviewed by a third party. If the perpetrator's actions are for the betterment of Nanotrasen, consider a lesser sentence, pardon, or promotion.

Modifiers & Special Situations

Situation Description Notes Modifier
Aiding and Abetting To knowingly assist a criminal. The original criminal's sentence; 5 minute minimum
Central Command Directive To be issued a pardon/sentence modification by Central Command. Central Command may, under certain circumstances, legally waive sections of Space Law. Irrespective of the original crime, if a pardon or modification to a sentence is issued it is to be followed immediately. Immediate Release/Modification
Cooperation with Security Being helpful to the members of security, revealing things during questioning. Note that the information must be true in order for this modifier to apply. Prisoners giving false information to officers should not be awarded time off. 50% reduction
Escape from Brig To flee successfully or unsuccessfully from a lawful sentence. Repeatedly damaging or otherwise destroying a cell enclosure is considered an escape attempt. Unless the prisoner was attempting to escape from an immediate threat, reset the timer to the original sentence or add five minutes (whichever is greater). Reset Timer or +5 minutes.
Hostile Brainwashing To be under the mind control of a Cult, Shadowling, or other mind-controlling circumstances. Any brainwashed person is to be detained non-lethally and deconverted or dethralled. Deconverted/dethralled persons are to be immediately pardoned of their crimes and released. Any contraband or dangerous items found at the time of deconversion are to be confiscated without punishment. Deconversion & Release
Immediate Threat to Prisoner A severe threat to a prisoner's person. The singularity eats something near the brig, an explosion goes off, etc. Officer must relocate the prisoner(s) to a safe location or otherwise immediately release them. Immediate Release/Relocation
Medical Attention A sick or injured prisoner requires medical aid. Prisoners are entitled to medical aid if injured or sick. In cases of self-harm, aid may be rendered at the discretion of Security. The timer continues to run during this time. Running Timer
Parole To be released, under parole, before the allotted sentence for a crime is up. For non-Capital Crimes, Parole may be offered at the discretion of the Warden, Head of Security, Captain or Magistrate. For Capital Crimes, see Enemy of the Corporation. Parolees are to be kept under surveillance and, should they commit another crime, be charged with it on top of their original sentence. Breaking parole disqualifies any chance of future parole. Prisoners breaking parole from Capital Crimes are to be executed upon capture. Parole Until Release
Refusal to Cooperate Non-cooperative behaviour/repeated attempts to escape. While already detained inside the brig and awaiting a sentence, acting in a manner which makes security waste time processing you. Attempting to resist/fleeing from processing or imprisonment is refusal to cooperate. This modifier can result in Permanent Imprisonment if it brings the sentence above 60 minutes. 50% addition
Repeat Offender To be brigged for the same offense more than twice. Offenses must not be committed as part of one crime spree, and must be separate repeat offenses. Upon the third sentencing for the same crime, five minutes is to be added. An additional five minutes is to be added for every successive imprisonment. After three applications of this modifier (on their fifth same-crime offense), the perpetrator is to be permabrigged. 5 minute cumulative addition on 3rd offense.

Permabrig on 5th offense.

Self Defense Acting to protect one's self, coworkers, or workplace. Persons intentionally getting involved in fights which occur in a department that isn't theirs is an act of vigilantism, not self-defense. Self-defense typically involves attempts to disarm or disengage, beating someone while they're down should be considered Assault unless the defender's life was in danger. Immediate Release
Surrender Willfully surrendering to Security. Coming to the brig, confessing what you've done, and taking the punishment. Getting arrested without a fuss is not surrender. 50% reduction
